Graduation Date: 2009
Hi everyone, I am one-half of the directing team "Michael and Miguel" and in my thesis year in the Dramaturgy program at Columbia University's School of the Arts. Together, my directing partner Michael and I directed Tokyo Police Club's "Tessellate" and this is our newest video for Tab the Band.
I went to undergrad. at Pomona College and actually majored in Economics then went on to get my law degree at USC. I then went to work as an assistant to a feature film producer, but left after a bit to pursue dramatic writing at Columbia's MFA program. While at Columbia, I interned at NBC and met my directing partner Michael Carlson. I am currently finishing up my thesis at Columbia University and working for Partizan New York and the Office of Michel Gondry.
Primary colors, AGFA Film, John Hughes, Akira Kurosawa, Mary Poppins, Whit Stillman, Gilmore Girls, American Musical Theatre, Strawberry Shortcake - but HEY, I'm only one half of the story, my directing partner MICHAEL has completely different tastes and preferences (most importantly he loves the Phillies and I love the Dodgers) but I think that's probably why we make such a good team... and sometimes hate each other.
My current heroes are: Barack Obama and Manny Ramirez.
My current favorite film is: BOLT!
My favorite films of 2008 are: The Wackness, Pineapple Express, Speed Racer, American Teen, The Dark Knight, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.
My favorite films of all time are WAY TOO MANY TO COUNT, but include in no particular order: Sixteen Candles, High and Low, Clueless, The Sound of Music, Amacord, Short Cuts, Jackie Brown, The Virgin Suicides, The Science of Sleep....
